About

John Bennett first discovered photography while experimenting with an instamatic camera as a 12 year old. Over the last 20 years the art of Photography has taken him around the world.

John began his career in the U.S. Navy, receiving extensive training in all aspects of traditional photographic techniques. He traveled with the Naval Aviation Choir documenting the groups performances during the Miss USA pageant, Today Show & various community and civic appearances. A multiple award winner of the All Navy and All Military Photography competitions, John's talents quickly became known throughout the military community. He was assigned as an instructor at the Naval Schools of Photography prior to being selected as the team photographer for the Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron "Blue Angels". Assignments found John travelling throughout the U.S. , Asia, Africa and Middle East photographing subjects in the air and on the ground.

After the Navy, John became a staff photographer for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing Corporation in St. Louis . His assignments covered flight test activities, engineering documentation & photographic and video support for Blue Angels. He was among the few photographers flying backseat in the company's line of fighter aircraft including the F/A-18 Hornet, F-15 Eagle, TAV-8 Harrier and T-45 Goshawk. When not in the adrenaline filled pace of the backseat, John could be found in the studio, the darkroom or advancing his skills in the digital imaging lab.

After a multi year hiatus, John has returned to his true passion; capturing images of the world around him. Concentrating on nature, scenic and fine art subjects; once again creating memorable photographs of the things most only dream of.

John's photography has been featured in countless publications, calendars, trading cards, posters and billboards. He is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association.
